The Brainchild of Swiss – German producer/rapper/vocalist Mattr (Berne, Swizz) and Montreal based experimental artist ira lee (Montreal, Qc) Little Eskimo Jesus was pioneered through emotional necessity as a psychological outlet for our heroes to indulge in and sponsor their most extreme, indulgent, bizarre, and emotional folk/electro/down tempo/rap experimental collaborations. Weaving seamlessly from electro dance to down tempo trip hop, the astounding diversity of both the production and songwriting is an homage to the vivacity and relevance of contemporary experimental folk rap. Steeped in thick, syrupy synths, crunchy drums, and hypnotic melodies courtesy of Mattr, and bathed in a naive, almost childlike songwriting by ira lee, Little Eskimo Jesus ‘ Never Trust the People’ is a magnificent introduction to Mattr and ira lee, and undoubtedly one of the most sincere records of 2010.

As promised (but a little late), this is the official launch of The Wack Blog and in conjunction…

TheWackBlog.com presents… ’47 minutes too long’ an ira lee retrospective (2000 – 20010)

This is a fun 46:33 second retrospective of ira lee’s rap, experimental, turntablist, freestyle, emo, battle, beatbox, folk, pop, and electro stylings.

With brief introductions to setting, influence, environment, and purpose, ’47 Minutes too long’ is an eclectic indie/emo/rap/folk/electro mixtape from Canada’s most powerful and innovative songwriter.

Below is a quote straight from Mr. Ira Lee…

In 2010 the only way to remain relevant is quantity. Which is a tough thing to wrap your head around when your viewpoint is rooted in quality. I can’t resist any longer and I realize my experimentation may alienate the core body of my friends and fan base. My music is so highly personal, strange, awkward, and unsettling. I’m often compared to several completely different artists on the same record, but never called ‘original.’ I make alot of different genre’s of music and I do it extremely well. My unfortunate habit of sitting on dope shit and downplaying my spurts of super productivity is dead. On the road for the majority of 2010, ’47 Minutes too long’ an ira lee retrospective (2000 – 2009) is a collection ira lee’s best/unreleased and experimental songs spanning the last decade.
